Freelancer or self-employed, do everything yourself or outsource it?

What's your dream? Do you have an urge for freedom, are you fully committed to your profession without being dependent on a company full of rules, or do you simply want something extra for yourself? Don't we all dream about that sometimes? Working independently as a self-employed person is a dream for many, it is up to you what you do with it. Working as a self-employed person gives you a lot of freedom. You do the things you like at times that suit you, which gives you a lot of job satisfaction. However, don't be mistaken in thinking that nothing is necessary and everything is allowed. Of course you can determine your own hours, in number, but you can also determine that you do not start before 10:00 am. This does mean that you regularly work in the evenings or on weekends. You also need good discipline to 'put yourself to work'. However, for many self-employed people, this does not outweigh the benefits of freedom and being able to schedule their own working hours. Working on different assignments for different clients makes it varied and fun. Do you have any doubts? Talk about it with others. There is no shame in choosing not to do it; After all, not everyone has the same dream. And who knows, maybe the time just isn't right for you right now. Do you really want it? Have you thought about it carefully? Then starting as a self-employed person is probably step 1 of your dream. Well done! Lots to think about It is quite a search in the beginning. Even the different concepts and names for the self-employed person that you are now sometimes cause some confusion. But if you consider that the terms self-employed and freelancer actually mean the same thing, you are already one step further. In both cases you work for different clients, without there being an employment relationship. There are a number of things to consider when setting up a company; whatever form of business you choose and however small you want to start. Just a few things you will have to deal with are: writing a business plan, coming up with a name for your company, registering with the Chamber of Commerce and tax authorities. Setting up an administration, building a website and so on. Fortunately, there are all kinds of checklists available on the internet and the Chamber of Commerce provides a lot of information for starting entrepreneurs. And then we haven't even talked about finding the right assignments. How handy are you? With all the things you have to arrange as a freelancer or self-employed person, you may wonder how to do this. Do it yourself or outsource it? It can be tempting to do everything yourself. After all, outsourcing immediately entails costs. Honesty with yourself is important here. Are you handy in administration or accounting? Can you build a website yourself? Are you good at writing texts? Then it is fine to do this type of work yourself and thus save on costs. Do you have doubts about your qualities in this regard? Then it might be wiser to call in a freelancer. Freelancer start, a good start! Presenting your company well is important. A website is often seen as the first calling card. Make sure it looks professional. Proper structure of a site is important. Don't make it too difficult for your visitor. Too many clicks and searches can quickly cause a potential customer to drop out. Also make sure your texts are good. Easy to read, clear and of course error-free Dutch. To give your company a professional appearance right from the start, it is often worth the investment to hire a professional. A programmer who tailors your website. Maybe you also want an app? This also requires a professional programmer. Also consider a copywriter. A copywriter translates your information into professional text for your website or other means of communication. Remember: a professional start is a good start!
