Avoid expectations and pitfalls as a freelancer

The time had finally come... I received my first quote request as a freelance translator . Pleasantly surprised by the interest in my product, I made a quote. Shortly afterwards, I saw an interesting assignment for the first time on a mediation platform for freelancers. I wrote a response with enthusiasm. I still remember those first times and now know how naive I sometimes was in terms of expectations. Stay positive After my first message to the potential clients, I waited impatiently for a response. Full of anticipation, I opened every email and refreshed the message box on the freelancer platform. After all, I expected the other person to be as enthusiastic as I was and to respond immediately. Unfortunately... my expectations were far too high. I now know that potential clients wait for multiple responses from freelancers and request quotes from many different companies. If you put yourself in the role of client, that is actually very self-evident. It was a disappointment when I received no response to my first response on the freelancer platform. Be prepared for it, it protects you from disappointment.
