The main question of this thesis is: how does the body-politic of the performer create a message of political dissent? Central to the thesis stands the argument that the Bosnian culture of apathy and alienation from the state cannot be addressed through normative frameworks, yet have to be channeled through new ideas on civic engagement. In this case perhaps through art and creative collaboration with the community.
